-10 points for the Corvette badging and Rudolph nose, but it's still an all wheel drive SUV with an LS2 under the hood.

SAVE THE PANTHERS.

I drive a yellow cab and refuse to drive the Nissans that my garage is buying to replace MY beloved Panthers!
I will shed tears when they are all gone.

Pretty cool man!
Those Nissan NV things really are garbage. Whoever approved those must have been delirious or something, Because in no way are those worthy successors to the Crown Vic. The engines can probably only take 150k, and the CVT's will probably need replacement on a yearly basis. They really are garbage.
The Panther is 100x the car the Nissan thing will ever be, and large American taxis are a dying breed!

I am as big a Panther defender as anyone, but I have to admit that the NV is pretty delightful as a passenger in the back. Comfortable seats, nice panoramic roof, and tons of legroom.

The Crown Vic was comfortable! Extended wheelbase, Nice rear seat also.
And the Nissan thing is never going to be an icon. The Crown Vic was, The Caprice was, and the Marathon was. But the Nissan is just one big blandmobile.

The Nissan cannot get out of it's own way! Putting a Nisan Sentra/Versa 4 banger in a HEAVY van is a piss poor idea. It's also tall and has dangerously soft suspension.
I get why SOME (believe it or not, I've heard a few passenger complaints) passengers like them, but as a driver, it's god awful!
And about that panoramic roof... well, they have been known to shatter on more than one occasion. And the mandatory partition is terrible, the only way to communicate with a passenger is through a speaker... seriously, WTF!
It doesn't matter anyways... Uber is taking over, thus making yellow medallion cabs obsolete.

Plus the interior looks horrible and cheap. If I were a driver, I wouldn't drive an Nv200 either way.
I don't know if they can take the abuse that most of the other cabs have been able to take. You're spot on about the 4 banger though.
